Eastchester Resident Honored at Fund Raising Event
Michael Santoliquido was honored at an annual event held by The Healing the Children Northeast, a non-profit organization he has been a stronger supporter of for over seven years.
Michael Santoliquido, Eastchester resident and owner of San Signs and Awnings in Yonkers, was honored this past Wednesday at the Healing the Children Northeast 7th annual golf outing and reception at the Waccabuc Country Club. Santoliquido was recognized for his ongoing philanthropic efforts and support for the organization over the past seven years.
President Kathleen McGovern stated that Santoliquido has been and continues to be an integral sponsor, having donated thousands of dollars worth of signage and banners in his time involved with the organization. Santoliquido is thankful, fortunate and truly blessed to have had the care and attention for his daughter Gabriella who survived a 24 week premature birth and a 4 ½ month hospital stay. As a result, he is extremely passionate and committed towards helping HTCNE in any way possible.
The Healing the Children’s organization is a 501C non-profit group of surgeons, physicians, dentist, nurses, medical suppliers and volunteers who provide free medical and surgical care for underprivileged children in the United States and abroad. Most of the families aided by HTCNE are poor and uninsured, and cannot afford the much needed medical services provided. HTCNE provides medical and dental care for approximately 2600 children annually, and has treated over 33,000 children worldwide since 1985. Funding for this project is made through private donations, grants, membership dues and fund raising events. HTCNE's annual budget is projected at $210,000, while their volunteer services program generates between $4 to $5 million in donated services and supplies annually. McGovern added that for every $1.00 donated to our organization, we are able to provide more than $27.00 worth of donated medical care.
