Eastchester Town Board Meeting Tonight To Discuss Vehicle And Traffic Codes

The board meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at Town Hall and will deal with adding an amendment to Town Law that affects parking meter times, standing and stopping zones and permit parking fees.

Some residents in Eastchester have already shared some concern over tonight's Town Board meeting, in which the vehicle and traffic code for Eastchester will be examined and possibly amended by night's end.

One of the biggest areas of concern is if the parking meter times get extended from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Saturday.

"This will have a devastating affect on businesses and residents," stated Eastchester resident Barry Kramer.

Margaret Vines, who lives on Garth Rd. but shops frequently in the evenings in Town stated that she also thinks this is a bad idea and that, "I'll have to make sure I park in a lot without meters I guess, which doesn't help the Town unfortunately."
