Family Of Bullied Tuckahoe Student Sues School District

The lawsuit says the teen is still coping with the aftermath of her attempted suicide.

TUCKAHOE, NY — A lawsuit filed against the Tuckahoe school district said that a student who was mercilessly bullied on school grounds and at school activities tried to kill herself in March 2018. She was taken to the hospital and was revived.

The lawsuit, filed in state Supreme Court March 4, said the teen who is now 15 is still coping with the aftermath, as are her parents, the Journal News said.

Bullying began when she was a sixth-grader at Tuckahoe Middle School in 2015-16 and continued through her time there.

District Superintendent Carl Albano did not respond to the Journal News' request for comment.
