Free ACL Screenings and Presentation for Girls Ages 12-18
On Feb. 27 from 10 am to 12 pm, Dr. Charles Popkin and the NYP/Lawrence Physical Therapy team will host this event in Palmer Hall.

Female athletes are four to six times more likely than males to tear the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Over 70 percent of all ACL injuries are non-contact injuries that may have been prevented. Receiving proper care and education can reduce the risk of injury and keep young athletes in the game.
Dr. Charles Popkin, Sports Medicine Specialist, and The Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Departments, will be speaking on injury prevention followed by free ACL screenings for girls 12 to 18 to help determine which female teenage athletes may be more at risk for developing an ACL injury. The event will be held on Saturday, February 27, from 10 AM to Noon in the third floor conference room of Palmer Hall. To reserve a spot, call (914) 787-5000. Parents must accompany their teen to the screening.
