Holiday Gifts Delivered to Gramatan Village Members

Some volunteers also helped to hang the decorations.

BRONXVILLE, NY — Gramatan Village members received an unexpected holiday surprise last week when free holiday decorations were delivered to their homes.

This program reflects the Gramatan Village mission to provide support and programs for members of the community so they can lead active and independent lives while living at home in the neighborhood they love, according to a spokesperson.

The holiday decorations were made possible due to the generosity of the families of the Tuckahoe schools.

At a fundraising event, families were asked to donate a poinsettia plant or wreath in addition to purchasing one for their own home.

The decorations were delivered to Gramatan Village members by its volunteers who support the organization by providing services to members on a regular basis. In some cases, the volunteers also took the time to hang the wreaths.

“Decorating for the holidays can often be a difficult task for many of our older members. We are pleased to be able to make their life easier and more enjoyable during the holiday season and we sincerely thank the families at the Tuckahoe schools for making these gifts possible.” said Kerry Walsh, president of the Gramatan Village board.
