Hudson Valley to Get 'New Concept' Barnes & Noble Store

The company said the store is slated to open in October.

Eastchester, NY — Barnes & Noble has always been a place where one browse for the latest bestseller or have coffee while catching on your reading.

The chain has decided to make a change.

Barnes & Noble announced Thursday that it would be opening four new concept stores this year, with the first opening in Eastchester at the Vernon Hills Shopping Center in October.

The new stores will have a full-service restaurants, that will serve wine and beer, and it will feature a broad assortment of books, expanded seating and large open spaced for in-store events, according to a spokeswoman.

Barnes & Noble is billing the new stores as serving as cultural hubs, with large, outdoor spaces that will have bocce courts, fire pits and outdoor seating.

The bookseller made the announcement during its investor call.
