BRONXVILLE, NY — The identity of the man struck and killed by a Metro-North train Monday, Feb. 11 in Mount Vernon has been released. Jeffery Cooney, 60, of Bronxville, was struck by the train while he was on the tracks of the Fleetwood station. A spokesperson for Metro-North said the <a href="http://somers.dailyvoice.com/news/westchester-man-idd-as-person-struck-killed-by-metro-north-train/732794/" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">investigation</a> into the incident found that it was not criminal in nature or accidental, the Daily Voice said. The train was northbound on the Harlem Line. Asbury Crestwood United Methodist Church

The Crestwood Library is celebrating its centennial this coming year, beginning in fall 2026 and concluding October 16, 2027. To celebrate, the library is presenting a collection of varied events throughout the year, with the kickoff event being a concert at Asbury Church on Sunday, September 27, 2026, co-presented by the Crestwood Library, the Friends of the Crestwood library, and Asbury’s free community concert series, Music at Asbury. The focus of the concert is to feature artists with strong ties to Crestwood / Tuckahoe / Yonkers, as well as poetry and reflections on literature, libraries, and community, including an original haibun-sequence narrative celebrating the library and its history by poet Valerie Rivera. 
Artists performing on the concert are DuoJalal (violist Kathryn Lockwood and percussionist Yousif Sheronick); cellist Charles duChateau; pianist Annbritt duChateau; double bassist Fabien duChateau; flutist Haley Hamers; organist Jon Riss; trumpeter William Schaeffer; vocalist Mary Thombs; the St. Vladimir’s Seminary Chorale; and the Library Jazz Band. 
Prior to and following the concert, a Silent Auction will be held to benefit the Crestwood Library and Music at Asbury. Doors open at 2:15 for the auction, 2:30 for concert seating.

is designed to serve as a social service to the community, offering free performances by some of New York City and the Hudson Valley’s finest musical artists.
The Rev. Jason Radmacher is pastor of Asbury Church and Mary Thombs is Minister of Music and Chair of Music at Asbury. Z Baird is Branch Administrator of the Crestwood Library; Cathleen Walsh is President of the Friends of the Crestwood Library.
