Last Chance to Refuse the Common Core State Math Tests!!

So LISTEN UP-- tomorrow begins the next round of worthless, stupid, inane, mind numbing, child abusing, testing for what is being passed off as MATH-- simply to rate the salty and seasoned professional teachers that we all know and love.

You're are faking yourselves out if you think for one minute that these tests mean something to your child's future, or that it teaches a child anything at all about responsibility or about facing challenges. I would have agreed with you about that BEFORE COMMON CORE, but not so today.

The reformers are not your local school board members or your local Superintendents. They didn't come up with this junk, although they now have to follow it, but they are more than qualified and trustworthy to come up with real standards and real curriculum as they were doing before this Trojan horse entered our country and our state. I must warn you too, that I don't know who you are going to complain to now if your child doesn't do well or if you have issues surrounding these tests and the standards or curriculum that is scripted in the modules in the EngageNY website that all schools WILL BE USING FROM NOW ON!

Cuomo is virtually invisible, John King's own children aren't attending a public school and he is also untouchable, not to mention unapproachable--so you tell me, do you think our local Superintendent is going to help you when you don't like how your child is fairing, or the electronic file that follows your children throughout their educational careers which doesn't fairly depict your child's record or frame it in such a favorable light, while also documenting aspects of your child's career that are not so favorable to your child as he/she is growing up, considering every child should be allowed to have their fair share of growing pains which should not have to be recorded and placed in a cloud as his or her record that will follow them through life? This scheme is not something I made up, or any of the other anti-common warriors made up. You are just not as informed as the rest of us are and that is understandable considering how crazy-busy our daily lives have become, the distractions, raising small children and juggling all that you have to.

I know you have not devoted over a year (like it's your job) to research this educational canard the way I have and many others have. We get that, and we understand. However, here is the thing, if you keep allowing your children to take the tests, the beast of common core is fed and the beast of common core survives. I will keep battling it back for as long as I can, and I have my warriors to keep me strong, but it would be so much more effective if you all realized the bigger picture and took this opportunity to return to our communities our local control by exercising your local control as a parent. That's why we have elected boards of education that we picked, who advise and work closely with our Superintendents and building principals, the people hired to make local changes for the benefit of our school districts and our children. When your child refuses, your child is not scored, he or she is not penalized, neither is the teacher, the building principal or the school or district. No one is rated.

NO ONE! Nothing is impacted in a negative way. The only negative impact is that we destroy the plan of Common core and we take our money from the greedy, grubby waiting hands of the reformers and their vulture capitalist partners, and most importantly, we don't allow our children and their future to be pigeon holed or their destinations be controlled for a GLOBAL future workforce.

I implore those of you who are on the fence, to take a brave and courageous step and join the 30,000 refusals from the ELA at the beginning of the month, by adding to our numbers tomorrow, to STARVE THE COMMON CORE BEAST! Thank you and God Bless you!
