Letter to the Editor: Marvin Offers Her Support for Dennis Winter
The Bronxville Mayor says Winter is the choice in Thursday's Eastchester Fire Commissioners' election.

The following is a letter to residents from Bronxville Mayor Mary Marvin:
Dear Town Residents,
The outcome of the December 8th Eastchester Fire District Election will impact the taxes paid by Town residents, as well as the manner in which our Fire District is managed, for years to come.

A vote for Board Chairman Dennis Winter is critical to maintain necessary oversight of the $16 million budget. By comparison the Village of Bronxville budget is $13 million and Village of Tuckahoe is $12 million.
Under Dennis’ leadership, financial practices have been managed effectively and out of control spending has been eliminated. Fire District taxes were reduced in 2015 and held flat in the 2016 budget. As a result of the actions of Dennis and others on the Board, serious accounting and payment irregularities were uncovered and addressed. Those irregularities cost us, as taxpayers, one million dollars.

It is of great financial consequence to Town residents, who bear a significant amount of the cost of the Fire District budget, that the budget and the District be overseen in a fair, professional and cost-effective manner. For this to continue it is imperative that Dennis be re-elected.
Please vote for Dennis Winter on December 8. Bring a friend to vote and share our letter. Town-voters need to come out in force if reform and oversight is to continue.
Sincerely,
Mary Marvin
Mayor
