Long Island Restaurant Week Under Way With $27.95 Prix-Fixe Dinner

Long Island Restaurant Week, a biannual event, is under way and will conclude on Sunday, May 4, 2014. More than 150 restaurants are participating.

The prix-fixe cost per person for a three-course dinner is $27.95. Each restaurant has agreed to offer at least three appetizers, three entrées and three desserts. Lunch service is not included in the Long Island program. 

Tips, coffee, tea and beverages are not included in the prix-fixe cost.

The rules require restaurants to offer the prix-fixe dinner each day of the program they are open but have an option to stop offering the $27.95 menu on Saturday night, May 3, after 7 p.m. 

Restaurants are permitted to include additional items on the menu having supplemental charges.

Restaurants are grouped in three categories: Nassau County, Suffolk County and East End (includes restaurants in the Hamptons) and can be searched by cuisine, city or restaurant name on the Long Island Restaurant Week website. 

The cost of participation for a restaurant is $445.
