Man Struck and Killed by Metro-North Train in Tuckahoe

The incident occurred Friday morning.

A man was struck and killed by a Metro-North train along the tracks in Tuckahoe Friday morning, according to the railroad.

The Journal News reports the incident occurred just before 8:30 a.m. No other injuries were reported, and authorities are investigating what the man was doing on the tracks.

According to officials, he was struck by a northbound Harlem Line train headed to North White Plains. It left Grand Central at about 7:45 a.m.

At 9:30 a.m., Metro-North sent out the following statement about delays caused by the incident, ”Harlem Line service is currently experiencing delays of 15 to 20 minutes due to Police Department activity in the vicinity of Mount Vernon West and Crestwood. Please listen for announcements at your station.”
