Naked, Bloody Wandering Man Enters Plea in Girlfriend's Death

The 51-year-old had stab wounds, as did she.

Nathaniel Grant of Yonkers, New York pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of Manslaughter in the First Degree, in connection with the stabbing death of his longtime girlfriend, Acting Westchester County District Attorney James A. McCarty announced.

When 911 calls described a naked, bloody man walking down Warburton Avenue at 5:30 a.m. April 1, Yonkers police found Grant and took him to the hospital. He had punctures and lacerations on his stomach, legs, arms and hands.

They learned that he had come from an apartment at 53 Glenwood Avenue. When they entered, they found 56- year-old Carol Finch, dead.

She had been stabbed many times and had wounds to her heart, lungs and liver.

Neighbors told police they had heard a commotion coming from within the victim’s apartment sometime before Grant was found by police roaming the streets. He was taken into custody at the hospital.

Grant will be sentenced on Dec. 1. He faces a maximum of 25 years in prison on the class “B” Violent Felony charge.

Assistant District Attorney Christine O’Connor of the Superior Court Trials Division is prosecuting the case.
