Operation PROM's Prom Hero Campaign

Last year, Operation PROM raised over $11,000 to fund the entire Prom for the Channel View HS in Rockaway Beach.  The school was severely affected by Hurricane Sandy, and most of the students thought Prom just wasn't going to happen.  Many of the students lost their homes and faced tough financial times.  As Founder and President of Operation PROM, I knew our team could come together and give these students a Prom to remember.  We decided to Crowd Fund, using the CrowdRise.com platform.  After just a few months of funding, we reach our goal.  Together with the Men's Wearhouse, and Jovani Fashions, the students received free Prom dresses and tuxedos too.  You can view our NBC Nightly News video of the Channel View Prom by clicking here: http://www.nbcnews.com/video/nightly-news/52211134
