Update: Person Struck and Killed by a Train Near Bronxville

Updated at 11:53 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015: News 12 is reporting that the person struck by a Metro-North train near Bronxville early Thursday was killed.

The investigation is continuing, and further details - such as the person’s identity - have not yet been released.

They were referred to as a “trespasser” by Metro-North officials, meaning the person was not authorized to be on the tracks. The incident occurred between the Bronxville and Fleetwood stations at about 5:30 a.m.

Original story: A person described as a “trespasser” was struck by a train near Bronxville early Thursday morning, according to Metro-North.

Details of the incident - and the extent of any injuries - were not immediately available. Railroad officials said at 8:30 a.m. that the occurrence was causing delays of up to 20 minutes along the Harlem Line.
