Pro Squash Tournament Takes Place This Weekend in Tuckahoe

Pro Squash Tour's Pyramid Squash Open will be in Tuckahoe Mar. 23-25 at the Pyramid Squash Club in Tuckahoe.

 

For those of you who did not even know, yes; there is a Squash Club in Tuckahoe called and this weekend Mar. 23-25, they will be hosting the (PST) featuring not only the professionals, but three of America's top Junior Players including Dylan Murray of Bronxville.

Other Junior participants who will be getting the chance to take on the pros include Faraz Khan of Floram Park, N.J., and Mason Ripka of New York City, who along with Murray, are all top 10 ranked juniors in American squash.

PST Commissioner Joe McManus says this could be a breakthrough event for the juniors.

"These young men are training hard and are improving quickly and it's very possible one of them could go deep in this tournament," said McManus.

Pyramid Squash is owned and operated by Katja and Gamal Amir of Rye, N.Y. Gamal Amir was formerly ranked 28th in the world and was born in Cairo, Egypt. After more than 15 years of international competition, Gamal focused increasingly on his true passion, coaching.

Since 1999, he has developed several nationally and internationally ranked players. Having grown in popularity, the game of squash is incredibly 150 years old and played by over 20 million people in 185 countries.

The Pyramid Squash Open will begin on Friday, Mar. 23 at 5:30 p.m. Quarterfinals will take place on Saturday, Mar. 24 at 10 a.m., and semifinals at 5 p.m. The championship final is scheduled for Sunday, Mar. 25 at 1 p.m. following the third place match at noon.
