Sarah Lawrence College Unveils New Experiential Learning Center

The new Experiential Learning Center connects students with career prep, community engagement, global experiences, advising, and more.

Sarah Lawrence College recently hosted an open house for its new Experiential Learning Center, a centralized, student-focused space designed to connect students with career preparation, community engagement, global experiences, pre-professional advising, and other experiential learning opportunities.

The Experiential Learning Center brings together the College’s Career Services, Community Partnerships & Engagement, SLC EmbeddEd, Global Education, and Pre-Professional Advising, making it easier for students to access resources and opportunities that complement their academic experience and connect them to real-world learning and career preparation.

These offices were previously dispersed throughout the College and are now centrally located in the heart of the Bronxville campus. A previously unused front-facing section of the Performing Arts Center provided an ideal location for the Experiential Learning Center, increasing the visibility and accessibility of these services and programs for current students, prospective students, alumni, employers, community partners, and others.

The Experiential Learning Center also includes professional co-working spaces, collaborative work areas, private meeting pods, and dedicated spaces for advising, programming, and student engagement.

“The tradition of experiential learning has been a hallmark of a Sarah Lawrence education since its founding 100 years ago,” said President Cristle Collins Judd. “As we begin our second century, we know this type of learning is more important than ever. The Experiential Learning Center further expands the walls of the classroom and opens the doors of opportunity for students beyond campus, building bridges from their present to their future.”
