UPDATE—Monday, August 1, 2016, 1:50 p.m.: The Saw Mill River Parkway was reopened after police searched for a bank robber.

Police said the Chase Bank on Nepperhan Avenue was robbed around noon Monday, lohud.com reported.

All lanes of the parkway were closed between exits 7 and 9 during the police activity.

BRONXVILLE, NY — Police activity has forced the closure of the Saw Mill River Parkway, according to the Department of Transportation.

Both the north- and southbound lanes were closed between Exit 7 and Exit 9 at 12:45 p.m.

The closure is anticipated to last two hours.

The DOT said that delays can be expected and motorists should use alternate routes.
