Second Bronxville Pop--Up Art Show Success

On September 13–14, 2014, a Pop-­​Up Art Show transformed an empty Bronxville storefront, 66 Pondfield Road, into a pop-­​up art gallery with a reception on Saturday, September 13 from 5–9 p.m. The Pop​­-Up Art Show was free and open to the public, showcasing the work of nearly 25 emerging artists, including some local Bronxville artists, representing photography, painting, drawing, mixed-­​media and sculpture. The show provided a unique opportunity for emerging artists to publicly exhibit their work while simultaneously bringing life and vibrancy to an underutilized space.

The Pop​­-Up Art Show is thrilled to announce that we received approximately 350 to 400 visitors throughout the weekend. The venue space was donated by Admiral Real Estate Services Corp., and local business, specifically Tryforos & Pernice Florists, Chantilly Patisserie, Pure Mountain Olive Oil, Ernie’s Wine Bar + EATS, Blue Moon Mexican Café and Pete’s Tavern, provided special discounts and offers to art show visitors.

This was the second organized pop-­up art show held in Bronxville, NY, with the first held in the summer of 2012. The Pop­-Up Art Show was a not for profit community event, organized and curated by Cara Garcia­​-Bou, Bronxville­-Eastchester native and Ethical Cultural Fieldston School (2009) and Bates College (2013) alum.
