Sophomore Earns Grand Prize In Music Competition

Bronxville High School sophomore Lou-Fei Sung has been awarded the Grand Prize for his age group as a solo keyboard musician by the New York Laureate International Music Competition.

Sung entered the competition with his performance of Liszt’s “Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2” on piano and was judged by a panel of professional music experts. According to organizers, the highly competitive New York Laureate International Music Competition’s mission is to discover and inspire talented young musicians and nurture their growth as leading artists in the classical music world.

“Lou-Fei’s performance reflects exceptional technique and control of interpretive elements,” orchestra director Denise Lutter said. “The entire school is very proud of his accomplishments and is looking forward to his performances during our spring recital and orchestra concerts.”
