Join us as Rabbi Frank Tamburello takes us on the incredible journey of the little know history of the Jews of southern Italy. This story begins at the time of the Macabees, continues through the horrors of The Inquisition, and arrives at the modern day when Calabrians began to discover and embrace their Jewish roots. The program will start with the screening of a one hour documentary film The Secret Jews of Calabria, produced by Rabbi Barbara Aiello, an American rabbi of Italian descent, describing the history and traditions of many of the Italians Jews living in Calabria with Jewish roots that goes back to the Inquisition. Q & A with Rabbi Tamburello will conclude the event. A light reception is offered prior to the beginning of the presentation from 6:30pm to 7:00pm. Must register in advance and prepay.
