Stop Signs To Replace Signals At Tuckahoe Intersection
The new configuration will be monitored during the survey period.

TUCKAHOE, NY — An intersection in Tuckahoe will have stoplights removed and replaced with four-way stop signs. The Tuckahoe Police Department said in a Facebook post that they have evaluated all intersections in the village for upgrades or removal.
The intersection of Fisher Avenue at Marbledale Road was identified as one that should be examined for signal removal because of changes to the intersection made to eliminate wide-curving turns and long crosswalks.
Police believe that turning the intersection into an all-way stop will enhance the safety for pedestrians and vehicular traffic, and it will also aid in the efficient flow of traffic.

Going forward, there will be a minimum 90-day survey period when the signal will be placed on a four-way red flash with stop signs fixed at each street. Also, stop ahead signs will be installed on the approaches.
During the survey period, the intersection will be closely monitored and community feedback will be encouraged.
