Sunday Series: Holiday Weekend Edition

Welcome to Sunday Series, a photographic look at Bronxville, Tuckahoe and Eastchester through the lens of Bronxville-based photographer Jay Wilson. Every week, we'll post a new photo, taken by Wilson, depicting life in the three communities.

July 5: Sitting at the foot of Westchester, we're at the center of a web of highways, parkways, and tollways that emanate from New York city, spreading their fingers deeper north, east, and west.

Coming home to Bronxville from visiting relatives in Connecticut, I always enjoy the quick progressions and merges onto this network of highways...from the Hutch to the Cross County to the Bronx River takes mere seconds, and is enough to intimidate even seasoned drivers from less populous areas.

This view of late rush hour traffic on the Sprain Brook Parkway was taken from Kimball Avenue in Bronxville. 

Jay Wilson is  a fairly recent transplant to Bronxville, having moved here in 2006 after spending a decade living in Manhattan.
