Trump Donations to Veterans Organizations Cause Stir
The largest donation ended up at a Hudson Valley nonprofit, much to organizers' surprise.
Depending on who you talk with, Donald J. Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, either is just coming off a good week or a bad week.
Hillary Clinton, the former senator, secretary of state and Democratic presidential candidate, delivered what cnn.com called a “withering assessment” of the real estate mogul and reality television star’s qualifications on foreign policy.
One day after House Speaker Paul Ryan threw his support to Trump’s candidacy, the Wisconsin congressman distanced himself from Trump because of comments made about U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel having a conflict of interest in a lawsuit over Trump University, according to foxnews.com.

And then there were donations to veterans, something that was a major talking point in just about every speech Trump gave.
Media organizations sniffed around trying to find out whether Trump had actually given the money to veterans organizations as he said he had.

Push came to shove and Trump announced at a press conference Tuesday the donations had been distributed.
The largest donation ended up in the coffers of an organization located in the Hudson Valley.
The Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation, based in Tuckahoe, Westchester County, received a check for $1.1 million.
The president of the foundation, Ed Boran, said he was pretty certain he would be receiving something from Trump but admitted surprise at the size of the donation.
