Tuckahoe Administrator To Tour Japan For Chamber Of Commerce

She will also serve as a group leader for this year's delegation.

TUCKAHOE, NY — Tuckahoe Union Free School District’s Assistant Superintendent Dr. Ellen McDonnell has been accepted by the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of New York, Inc. to participate in its 2017 U.S. Educators program. This program will take McDonnell to several cities in Japan over a two-week period in July for a tour of the country’s educational program. “The initiative has been an important tool for helping American educators better serve their students and Tri-State area Japanese communities. It also serves as a unique way to promote and share the culture of both countries,” the organization’s website said.

As an additional honor, McDonnell has been selected to serve as a group leader to represent and coordinate this year’s delegation.

According to JCCI, McDonnell’s duties will include giving brief remarks during school, government and corporate visits as well as leading regular discussions throughout the tour.
