Tuckahoe BOE Adopts $35.5M Budget For 2019-20
The public will get a chance to vote on the budget May 21.
TUCKAHOE, NY — At its April 23 meeting, the Tuckahoe Union Free School District Board of Education adopted a budget for the 2019-2020 school year. This budget will be up for community vote on May 21, along with a trustee election for two open seats on the Board of Education.
There are four candidates for the Board of Education seats: Therese Gardere, Donna Martuge, Robert Sypher and Laura Benke.
The district will hold a budget hearing at 7:30 p.m. May 13 in the TMS/THS Library, as well as host a budget information session for the public at 9 a.m. May 16 in the William E. Cottle School Auditorium.

The budget plan the public will be voting on is for $35,482,700, which is up 4.29 percent from the current spending package. The tax levy increase is within the state-mandated tax cap, according to district officials.

Polls will be open on May 21, 2019 from 6am to 9pm at the following election district poll places:
- District A- Tuckahoe Community Center
- District B- William E. Cottle School
District residents planning to vote in the 2019-2020 Tuckahoe Union Free School District Budget Vote and Trustee Election must be registered. Qualified residents with the appropriate identification and residency proofs may register to vote at the office of the District Clerk on any school day between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. before May 1.
