Tuckahoe School District To Vote On $20.5M Bond Proposal
Improvements in the plan include new classrooms and the renovation of the Cottle gymnasium.

TUCKAHOE, NY — The Tuckahoe Union Free School District is asking the public to weigh in on funding a capital project. The community will vote Tuesday, Dec. 5 to approve a $20,531,500 bond proposal that addresses the district’s current facility needs and educational goals: growing enrollment, 21st century learning, infrastructure and security upgrades.
According to Superintendent Carl Albano, highlights of the plan include:
- Addition of eight new classrooms and complete renovation/expansion of the existing gymnasium at William E. Cottle School to meet the demands of increased enrollment
- Renovation of the libraries and cafeterias at William E. Cottle School and Tuckahoe Middle School/Tuckahoe High School
- Replacement of the Tuckahoe Middle School/Tuckahoe High School turf athletic field and installation of a new grass play field at William E. Cottle School
Albano said, if passed, the referedum would result in an estimated $598 per year tax increase for a home with an assessed value of $8,500.
