TUCKAHOE, NY — Tuckahoe schools will kick off a weeklong fundraiser with a day’s worth of events at Barnes & Noble of Eastchester. The Tuckahoe’s schools’ literary magazine will partner with the store for “Hibernate with a Good Book!” From 10 a.m to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, there will be author discussions, musical performances by students and Broadway singers, along with student-led story times.

When shoppers use a special code, a portion of in-store and online proceeds from Dec. 3 through Dec. 9 will go to the Tuckahoe English department to expand classroom libraries for independent reading.

Tuckahoe High School Principal Dr. Bart Linehan said the district’s English teachers and their students organized a holiday event that will celebrate the joy of reading for the entire community.
