Two Shot During Undercover Police Operation in Mount Vernon

The shooting occurred at about 4 p.m. on Friday.

Two people were shot during an undercover police operation in Mount Vernon Friday, according to reports.

The conditions of the two people, one of whom is believed to be the suspect, were not immediately available, reports WABC-TV, but both were alive.

Authorities said the undercover operation involved NYPD officers who were in Mount Vernon on the detail. The incident occurred at about 4 p.m. near Beekman Avenue and Pease Street.
