Verplanck Woman Hits Boyfriend with Broomstick

A 49-year old Verplanck woman was arrested earlier this month for assaulting her 58-year-old boyfriend with both a broomstick and a rock. New York State Police arrived at the woman’s residence following the domestic dispute. The man was transported to Hudson Valley Hospital by ambulance, where he was treated for minor injuries and released. The woman was arrested and charged with second-degree assault.

Thief Makes Off with All Four Wheels

On Sept. 5, a   The car was parked in the lot of his apartment complex, and police found several lug nuts and a pair of pliers on the scene. The loss is estimated to exceed $1,000, making it a felony charge of fourth-degree grand larceny. The matter is under investigation.

Used Cooking Oil Stolen from Pelham Restaurant

A manager at Five Guys Burgers & Fries restaurant in Pelham told police there had been , which the company keeps in the rear of the store so it can be picked up by another company for disposal. 

The manager told police he had video footage of a suspect stealing the oil. Police told the manager to send them a copy of the video.

 

Shoe Larceny in Dobbs Ferry 

A 26-year-old Dobbs Ferry resident reported that between Sept. 3 and Sept. 5 someone had stolen her shoes. She told police she’d left several pairs of shoes outside her residence and three pairs were stolen, including two $40 pairs and one $20 pair.

 

Government Vehicle’s Tires Slashed

Someone slashed the front and rear tires of a 2008 Dodge Durango, a government-issued vehicle belonging to a federal agent in White Plains. The damage totaled an estimated $400. The incident is being treated as misdemeanor criminal mischief.

 

Man Tries to Use Fake I.D. to Purchase Cartier Watch and Chanel Bag

White Plains arrested and on Monday after he tried to use a fake I.D. to sign up for a store account at Neiman Marcus. The man tried to purchase a $4,300 Cartier watch at the register, but the cashier suspected his identification was fraudulent. Police were called to the scene, and after reviewing security tapes they discovered that the suspect also allegedly tried to sign for a $4,300 Chanel handbag in the jewelry department before trying to purchase the watch.

 

Ghost Hunting Leads to Arrests in Dutchess County

New York State Police arrested five young people in Dutchess County late last month after they trespassed on the grounds of the Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center to allegedly look for ghosts. The five suspects—four men and one woman all from Connecticut and under 21-years old—said they were on the property because they had heard rumors the facility was haunted. Police took the suspects into custody for trespassing and issued them tickets to appear in court.
