Website Ranks Top 100 Public High Schools in New York

Of the top 100 schools in New York, 26 are in Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties, according to Niche.com.

Editor’s Note: In case you missed it the first time, we’re re-running this story about the top 100 high schools in New York, where a quarter of them are located in the lower Hudson Valley.

In a recently released report, Niche.com ranked public high schools across the country, with 26 schools from the lower Hudson Valley making the list of the top 100 in New York.

Niche says it used a detailed set of methods to rank 14,431 schools nationwide and collected 4.6 million opinions from 280,000 students and parents.

  • Students are very happy with their experience in all aspects including academics, teachers, health, safety, resources, facilities, extracurriculars, sports, and fitness;
  • District schools are exceptional academic institutions in terms of teachers, students, resources for learning, and student outcomes;
  • District schools are made up of a diverse population and fosters an accepting, positive school culture;
  • Students are actively involved in a variety of extracurriculars and sports the district offers.
