Westy Self Storage Supports the Girl Scouts

Westy Self Storage in Tuckahoe, NY supports the Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson by donating a gift of 2 months free rent for a storage unit and free use of the Westy truck equipped with driver. This donation will support Bingo Night, the group’s fundraising event.

The Tuckahoe/Eastchester Girl Scouts will host their second annual Bingo Night to raise money for renovations and upgrades to the Girl Scout Cabin on Highland Avenue in Eastchester. Built in 1958 with profits from the sale of Girl Scout cookies, the cabin is the main meeting place for more than 500 girls from Tuckahoe, Bronxville and Eastchester. It has begun to show its age and is in need of major repairs, including a new boiler, electrical upgrades, energy-efficient improvements, handicap accessibility, new doors and windows. From two previous fundraisers, the group has raised about half of the funds need for their project. They are currently in the process of working on Phase 1 – new roof, windows and doors. With this year’s Bingo Night they hope to raise funds to continue with the renovations.

“We are thankful to Westy for their kind donation toward our silent auction,” said Vivian Groccia, Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson. “The generosity of Westy and all those participating in the fundraiser will allow us to make the much needed upgrades to the cabin as well as teach our girl scouts the value of community partners.”
