Winners Announced for Volunteer New York! 36th Annual Spirit Awards

Local Mount Vernon resident among 8 other individuals to be award.

Local resident of Mount Vernon, Larry Fair wins Quality of Life Award from Volunteer New York’s 2016 Volunteer Spirit Awards for his work through The Future Society, Inc. Larry and 8 other individuals and groups will be given recognition for having gone above and beyond in donating their time and talent to volunteer activities that strengthen our region.

This award, presented by New York-Presbyterian Hospital, honors individuals for their work to improve the quality of life in the following areas, including, but not limited to, working to reduce illness or with the disabled, homeless, elderly, and veteran populations, as well with those with substance abuse problems or mental disabilities.

“These awards bring our volunteer, non-profit and for-profit partners closer together, while highlighting how important volunteer services is to keeping Westchester and our surrounding areas strong, resilient and thriving,” said Alisa H. Kesten, Volunteer New York! Executive Director.
