Yonkers Man Charged With Child Porn Possession

The defendant pleaded not guilty in a court appearance.

YONKERS, NY — A 29-year-old Yonkers man pleaded not guilty Tuesday to having child pornography. Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. said that Richard J. Silva was arraigned on a felony complaint in Yonkers City Court for possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child.

The Westchester County District Attorney’s Office received information that a computer at the defendant’s residence may have contained obscene sexual performances of children. On Sept. 11, 2017, a search warrant was issued for Silva’s residence. A computer was recovered and forensics performed which revealed more than 100 images and videos of children engaging in sexual acts.

He was arrested Tuesday.

Silva's bail was set at $5,000 cash over $10,000 bond. He faces a maximum of four years in state prison.

His next court date is Oct. 10, 2017.
