Deadly Shooting Inside Brooklyn Building Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Hurt: NYPD

Brooklyn police are searching for the suspect who shot one man dead and wounded another early Tuesday morning.

BROOKLYN, NY — A 24-year-old man was killed and another wounded when shots rang out inside a Brooklyn apartment building early Tuesday, according to police.

Police said Jarell Sutton was shot in the chest inside a three-story apartment building on Euclid Avenue near Pitkin Avenue in East New York around 12:10 a.m.

Emergency crews rushed Sutton to Brookdale University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, authorities said.

The second victim, who has not been identified, was struck in the foot and is expected to survive. He arrived at One Brooklyn Health–Brookdale Hospital Medical Center by private means and was reported in stable condition, police said.

An NYPD spokesperson said Tuesday morning that no arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
