Palestinians, Yemenis, Syrians, Iraqis and many others from numerous nations proudly showcased their cultures through music, dance and food. In a time when many Arabs overseas face conflict in nations including Syria, Yemen and Palestine, the celebration provided a platform for Arab Americans to promote a message of unity and peace. The event also served as a venue for people to register to vote, access health services, donate to causes affecting Arabs in countries overseas, notably Palestine and Yemen, and raise awareness of Arabs facing discrimination in the United States.
