15 Brooklyn ATMs Stolen By Same Group, Police Say

Police are looking for a group that committed several local commercial burglaries.

BROOKLYN, NY — The New York Police Department is looking for suspects they accuse of stealing 16 ATMs in New York City, including 15 in Brooklyn alone, between June 2 and Sept. 20.

In the commercial burglary pattern, police say the ATMs were stolen mainly late at night and early in the morning in neighborhoods including Sunset Park, Brownsville, East New York, Park Slope, Bed-Stuy, Clinton Hill, Williamsburg, Greenpoint, and Harlem.

In each of the 20 total incidents, between one and four suspects carried out the burglary and then fled in various SUVs, two of which are photographed above, police said.

NYPD officials said that in addition to the ATM burglaries, the group of perpetrators attempted to steal an ATM in four other incidents but were unsuccessful.

In those cases, the individuals fled the scene, and one time, the individuals removed money from the ATM without taking the whole machine, according to the NYPD.

In all of the incidents, there were no injuries reported, police said.
