$3.85M Boost For Brooklyn Clinics Targets Gaps
Funding upgrades women's health, pediatrics, dental and vision services across three community health centers.

BROOKLYN, NY— Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso allocated $3.85 million in capital funding to upgrade facilities and expand services at NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health centers across the borough.
The funding targets three sites: East New York, Cumberland and Brownsville.
“Every Brooklynite deserves access to world-class healthcare but there is so much work to be done to overcome decades of inequities and disinvestment,” Reynoso said.

A $1.75 million investment will fund renovations to the women’s health and pediatric unit at the East New York site, including a new lactation room, staff space and the addition of WIC services.
Additional funding at the location includes $650,000 to expand optometry exam rooms and $300,000 for HVAC upgrades.

At the Cumberland site, $250,000 will replace aging dental imaging equipment and $150,000 will modernize eye care rooms.
In Brownsville, $750,000 will fund HVAC improvements to expand climate control within the clinic.
Reynoso said the funding builds on broader efforts to address disparities in access to care across Brooklyn neighborhoods.
