Lee Rhodes, who works at Kingsway Jewish Center, confirmed with Patch that there was an Israeli real estate expo at the center on Tuesday night, and said that the shul was not putting on the event, but had rented space to the event's organizers.

The protest started at the event, but then marched along Nostrand Avenue, police said.

The NYPD did not tell Patch what led up to the arrests.

The center is located at 2810 Nostrand Ave.
