Here are the top stories today in Brooklyn:

1. A new casino resort might be heading to Coney Island, and Borough President Antonio Reynoso is keeping an open mind. With increasing declines in tourism to the area, supporters of the casino resort hope the $3 billion investment by Thor Equities, a real estate development group, revitalize the seaside town. Reynoso stated that he wants to review the proposals and ensure Coney Island residents are put first, but that is "it is exciting to see" different opportunities potentially heading to Brooklyn. 2. A mother has been charged with murder after the stabbing of her two sons. On Saturday, the suspect was accused of killing an 11-month-old and a 3-month-old, both of whom were found with multiple stab wounds on Saturday in an apartment in the Mount Hope neighborhood where the family had been living. The children were pronounced dead at a hospital. The victims' mother and prime suspect in the investigation was taken to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation and arrested there Sunday, police said in a news release. The suspect's father told police that his daughter was suffering from postpartum depression, a condition the young mother had been hoping to treat. The suspect's aunt said that her niece was afraid of her children and thought they were "devils."

3. The Nets got a sweet surprise for the team's 10th birthday: their very own themed ice cream! A Brooklyn-based ice cream maker, Ample Hills Creamery, has teamed up with the Brooklyn Nets to celebrate the team's 10th season in the borough. Two new, Nets-inspired flavors will be available for fans and ice-cream lovers alike. "Birthday Swishes: Home Court Advantage," a dark chocolate cake ice cream swirled with black, sliver, and white, is an exclusive flavor sold only at Barclays. The second flavor, "Birthday Swishes: Away Game," is another nod to the Nets' jersey aesthetics: a white birthday cake ice cream with chocolate swirls, homemade cake batter, and the same black, which, and silver sprinkles.
