BROOKLYN, NY— A fire damaged the future home of a Brooklyn restaurant that had been preparing to open in July.

As crews battled the blaze, the fire spread to the floor above, prompting a second alarm and bringing dozens of firefighters and emergency personnel to the scene.

The fire was brought under control shortly before 4 a.m.

No injuries were reported.

The building is home to the planned JD Eatery & Sip, a Chinese restaurant that had been advertising a July opening.

A menu circulated ahead of the launch featured soup dumplings, potstickers, noodle dishes, Sichuan-style specialties and vegetarian entrees.

It remains unclear how much damage the restaurant space sustained or whether the opening timeline will change.

Patch's request for comment from the restaurant has not received a response.

The location previously housed Martha's Cocina Mexicana before plans were announced for the new restaurant.

Investigators are working to determine what caused the fire.

The Department of Health was notified, according to fire officials.
