Brooklyn Teacher Arrested, Charged After Allegedly Touching 12-Year-Old Student

The teacher was arrested after an alleged incident involving a student at a Brooklyn school.

BROOKLYN, NY —A Brooklyn teacher was arrested Wednesday night and charged after he allegedly inappropriately touched a 12-year-old student, according to police.

Emil Agaronov, 41, was arrested at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday within the 84th Precinct, covering Brooklyn Heights, Boerum Hill and Vinegar Hill, and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and harassment, according to police.

The alleged incident occurred July 28.

Agaronov touched the student's body without her consent, the report alleges.

The school did not immediately respond to Patch's request for comment about Agaronov's employment status or whether he had been removed from the classroom.

Agaronov teaches at I.S. 240 in Midwood, according to the school's staff directory, which lists him as a special education teacher.
