Brooklyn Weekend Guide: Storms And Something For Every Neighborhood

To-do list: Eat seafood and enjoy music at a fish fry, see your neighbors at a block party, and catch a free Maya-inspired performance.

BROOKLYN— Brooklyn is looking wet and unsettled this weekend, but not it's a total washout. There are still plenty of events to check out and ways to stay active.

This weekend marks the Battle of Brooklyn's 250th anniversary, where British and American forces clashed in what became the largest battle of the Revolutionary War.

Also, I found this flyer for a cool block party in Bed-Stuy.

I went to one last summer, and it did not disappoint— super fun!

Despite the neighborhood's ongoing fight against deed theft, it's a reminder that the community is still here, still strong. And, that's always a reason to celebrate.
