Brooklyn Weekend Guide: Storms And Something For Every Neighborhood

BROOKLYN— Brooklyn is looking wet and unsettled this weekend, but not it's a total washout. There are still plenty of events to check out and ways to stay active.

Here's your forecast:

• Saturday, Aug. 22: Mostly cloudy and humid, around 77°F. Some light rain or drizzle is possible earlier, but the better chance for rain and thunderstorms comes Saturday evening. Localized flooding is possible with heavier storms.
• Sunday, Aug. 23: Warmer, around 83°F, with periods of clouds and sun. Morning showers and scattered storms/downpours around midday or afternoon remain possible. Conditions should be more favorable between storms.
• Best outdoor window: Earlier Saturday appears safer than Saturday evening. Sunday isn't a washout either, but timing is less certain because storms could pop up during the day.

This weekend marks the Battle of Brooklyn's 250th anniversary, where British and American forces clashed in what became the largest battle of the Revolutionary War.

I went to one last summer, and it did not disappoint— super fun!

Despite the neighborhood's ongoing fight against deed theft, it's a reminder that the community is still here, still strong. And, that's always a reason to celebrate.
