Woman Found Dead Near Belt Parkway Identified, Police Say

BROOKLYN, NY — A woman found dead near the Belt Parkway last week has been identified, police said on Tuesday.

Tanaya Cambell Ortiz, 38, was found unresponsive near the Belt Parkway and Knapp Street around 3:10 p.m. on Sept. 16.

The victim was pronounced at the scene. The city's medical examiner will determine the cause of death.

What led up to the woman's death is not known at this time.

There have been no arrests and an investigation remains ongoing.
