BROOKLYN, NY— Three men pleaded guilty to sex trafficking teenage girls in Brooklyn, where they transported two of them to North Carolina, Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez announced on Wednesday.
The investigation found the men forced the three Brooklyn teenagers to engage in prostitution and hand over part of their earnings.
Mylord Williams, 37, of the Bronx, received six years in prison and five years of supervised release on June 24.
Terrel Chery, 29, of Nassau County, received 12 years in prison and five years of post-release supervision.
Kinard Oliver, 28, of Brooklyn, received eight years in prison and five years of post-release supervision on Aug. 12.
All three men must register as sex offenders after their release.
The defendants pleaded guilty to sex trafficking of a child. Chery and Oliver also pleaded guilty to fourth-degree conspiracy.
In July 2022, Williams rented two rooms in East New York and, with Chery, trafficked a 17-year-old girl, according to the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office.
The men posted commercial sexual advertisements featuring the girl and collected all of the money she earned through prostitution, prosecutors said. The trafficking continued through October 2022.
The investigation expanded and linked Williams, Chery and Oliver to the trafficking of additional minors in Brooklyn and North Carolina, prosecutors said.
Williams and Oliver trafficked another 17-year-old girl in Brooklyn beginning in February 2024, according to prosecutors.
In August of that year, the girl texted a friend asking for help.
New York City police officers responded to the location, and investigators uncovered the trafficking operation, prosecutors said.
In October 2024, Chery and Oliver transported two girls, ages 15 and 16, to North Carolina, according to prosecutors.
The girls engaged in prostitution in several cities and had to give part of their earnings to the men, prosecutors said.
The investigation spanned New York and North Carolina, where the trafficking occurred, with law enforcement agencies in Virginia and New Jersey also assisting.
