Greetings,

Hopefully you've digested the darkness that comes with the end of daylight saving time, and maybe an extra hour of sleep. That extra hour let me vote on Sunday and get the marathon voter sticker, now on my iPad case next to June's Knicks sticker and the Halloween ones from years past. Today is Election Day. On the ballot are Governor and Lieutenant Governor, Comptroller and Attorney General, our member of Congress, our State Senator and Assembly Member, judges for the State Supreme Court and the Civil Court, and five possible City Charter changes.

Polls are open until 9 PM, and if you are in line by 9, you get to vote. Alternate-side parking and trash pickup are suspended, schools are on remote learning, and City and State government offices, including courts, are closed. The DMV is open, and mail shall be delivered. You can only vote at your own poll site today, which may be different than your early voting site. Go to bkcb6.app/vote, enter your address, and you'll get your poll site and full ballot, including a profile of every candidate, the ballot measures, and various guides. It's also in the BKCB6 app, which you can download and use without a signal (if your poll site has poor service, you'll have another reason to download the app).

All of CB6 is in Congressional District 10. The rest depends on your address: the district is split among State Senate Districts 20, 25 and 26 and Assembly Districts 44, 51, 52 and 61. All of Brooklyn votes for four State Supreme Court and four Civil Court seats, and part of CB6 also votes for two Civil Court seats in the 6th Municipal Court District.

On the back are the five City Charter questions, on public space permits, contractor paperwork, street safety projects and City property, building permits, and the City's rainy day funds. The explainer has the ballot language, what a yes and a no does, and lots of additional information.

Once polls close, I'll start breaking the results down by community district, though I suspect my map analysis will be overshadowed by tomorrow's more riveting results.

As always, I hope you read the rest and wish you well no matter what, but today, if you haven't already, I hope you vote.
