Anti-Muslim Attacker Shoves Young Woman In Brooklyn Subway: NYPD
A 20-year-old woman was assaulted and thrown to the floor while waiting for a D train in Sunset Park, police said.

BROOKLYN, NY — A hateful attacker spewed anti-Islamic slurs before shoving a young woman on a Brooklyn subway platform on St. Patrick's Day, police said.
The woman, 20, was waiting for a D train at the 9th Avenue subway station on March 17 at around 10:50 a.m., when she was approached by a stranger, police said.
Her attacker began by shouting anti-Islamic slurs before grabbing the young woman by the arms, violently throwing her onto the Brooklyn subway platform and ripping the phone from her hand, police said.

The man then smashed the device against the ground, shattering it, police added.
The woman was treated at the scene, while her attacker fled, and police continued investigating the incident as a hate crime Tuesday.

Police have since released surveillance photos of the suspect, showing him jumping a turnstile in a train station.
He is described as having a light complexion and was last seen wearing a black-and-white jacket, dark-colored pants and black shoes.
