Williamsburg Man Charged With Murder In Decapitation Killing
Jerry Brown has been accused of murdering Savannah Rivera, who was found partially decapitated. Investigators believe an ax was used.

BROOKLYN, NY — A Williamsburg man has been arrested and charged with murder in Saturday's brutal partial-decapitation killing. Savannah Rivera, 20, of the 1600 block of Ten Eyck Avenue, was found dead inside an apartment in the Bushwick Houses near Flushing Avenue and Humboldt Street, police said. She had been partially decapitated inside the apartment.
A four-year-old girl was also found in the unit. She was unharmed. Officers found Rivera's body inside the apartment of a 21-year-old woman, who was found with critical injuries outside the apartment complex around 1:30 a.m. She was suffering from cuts to her head and body, police said. That woman, whose identity wasn't released, was hospitalized in critical, but stable condition.
Early Sunday, police announced that Jerry Brown, 34, who lived in the building, was arrested and charged with 2nd-degree murder and attempted 2nd-degree murder, as well as weapons charges.

The suspect was a former boyfriend of the 21-year-old woman, sources said. The ex-girlfriend managed to escape.
The four-year-old girl is the daughter of the ex-girlfriend.

The New York Post reported citing sources, that investigators found an ax in a trash compactor in the building. They believe the ax was the weapon.
