BP Adams Releases Statement On Mayor De Blasio’s Announcement That NYC’s Outdoor Dining Will Be Permanent
"I am glad to see this program will now be made permanent."

September 25 2020
“The City’s outdoor dining program has proven to be a success in recent months, helping to support struggling small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic, reinvigorating city streets, and restoring a much-needed sense of normalcy for New Yorkers. With our city still reeling from the economic devastation wrought by the coronavirus, I am glad to see this program will now be made permanent. As someone who worked as a dishwasher early in my career, I firmly believe restaurants should be for all New Yorkers – not just a privileged few. This kind of practical policymaking must continue to guide our recovery, with a strong emphasis on equity, in the months and years ahead,” said Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams.
