The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Brooklyn.

Good morning, everybody! It's me, Carlie Houser, your host of the Brooklyn Daily. Keep reading for the most important things happening in town these days, including updates on...
- A mysterious sound is keeping Fort Greene up at night
- Video footage of some not-so-straight shooters
- Kyrie's Nets suspension groans on, sparking heated debate
But first, today's weather:
🌧 Showers early in the morning. High: 55 Low: 36.
Here are the top stories in Brooklyn today:
1. Forte Green residents complain of a mysterious, intermittent sound that's been keeping them up for months. Folks in the western Brooklyn neighborhood having been hearing the sound at various times during the day and are asking the city to help them figure out what it is and where it's coming from. "[It's] like a 'woo-woo-woo-woo!'" said Mo Hussain, a five-year resident of the Fort Greene neighborhood. "It almost sounds unnatural. It really gets under your skin." The community has become more and more unsettled over the last couple of months—convening on apps like Nextdoor—but 3-year Fort Greene resident Dawn Luisa says she's been hearing the sound, what she describes as akin to a tuning fork, for over a year now. Fort Greene has experienced a large amount of construction recently, which poses a partial answer to the neighborhood's audible plague. A spokesperson for the Department of Environmental Protection has scheduled an appointment for next week to meet with one of the local residents and do an inspection.
2. New video surveillance footage shows trio of gunmen fail to hit their target after firing off eight rounds. In an incident that happened on Nov. 5, three hooded, masked men took turns firing at a rival on a street corner in Canarsie around 4:15 p.m. All they managed to do was cloud the corner of Avenue L and East 92nd Street with a plume of gun smoke. Stray bullets hit the broad side of an occupied building, but no one inside was harmed, police say. The video shows each gunman shoot either two or three rounds before another replaces him. After missing their mark, the trio ran off and were last seen heading east on Avenue L. Police are asking for any relevant information that folks might have related to the incident—all reports will be kept confidential.

3. People are trying to "keep their knee on Kyrie's neck" says ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith in one of many strong responses from the NBA community after the Nets point guard was suspended for posting an antisemitic film to his social media. On top of a five-game suspension, Irving is also reportedly completing antisemitic and anti-hate training and sitting down with representatives from the Anti-Defamation League and Jewish community leaders in Brooklyn. L.A. Lakers star LeBron James took to Twitter to say that Irving's punishments and requirements for returning to the court are "excessive," and strongly argued against the point guard's drawn out suspension. Stephen A. Smith, who earlier in the week said that list of conditions was "emasculating," doubled down in his support of Irving on Friday, saying people should show compassion and forgiveness for the player following his apology to the Jewish community. While Irving did apologize to those of the Jewish faith for his social postings, in a press conference he did not flat-out deny his having antisemitic beliefs.
