Salvatore Lucchesse was sentenced Tuesday for beating 3-year-old Jaden Jordan to death in Gravesend in 2016, the DA said.

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK -- A Brooklyn man who admitted to beating his girlfriend's 3-year-old son to death will spend 15 years in prison, prosecutors announced Tuesday.
Salvatore Lucchesse, 26, was sentenced in Brooklyn Criminal Court for killing Jaden Jordan in Gravesend in 2016 while the toddler's mom was at work, according to the Brooklyn District Attorney's office.

"There is no excuse ever, under any circumstances, for beating a child," said Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez. “This was a senseless death of a helpless little boy who was left in the defendant’s care."
Medics who burst into the home at about 4:30 p.m. found Jordan soiled and unconscious with a fractured skull, said prosecutors.
Jordan, who fell into a coma, was rushed first to Coney Island Hospital then Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center where he died on Dec. 3, prosecutors said.
The Medical Examiner's office ruled the death to be a homicide caused by abusive head and neck trauma, prosecutors said.
